The Jubilee of Synodal Teams and Participatory Bodies will take place in the Vatican from 24 to 26 October 2025.

This is an important event aimed at recognizing the value of these bodies and the individuals who serve within them, thereby affirming the commitment to building an ever more synodal Church within the horizon of the hope that does not disappoint — the very hope we celebrate in the Jubilee.

The registration of members of synodal teams and diocesan participatory bodies is entrusted to the individual Episcopal Conferences and Oriental Churches, which hold all the necessary information. Registration will close on 30 June 2025.

FAQ.png FAQ.png
What is the program for the Jubilee of the Synodal Teams and Participatory Bodies?

The program includes moments of formation and exchange among participants (on the afternoon of Friday, 24 October, and throughout Saturday, 25 October), as well as liturgical events (a pilgrimage and passage through the Holy Door on Friday afternoon, and the concluding Mass on Sunday, 26 October, presided over by Pope Leo XIV.

Who can participate?

The Jubilee is primarily intended for all members of synodal teams or participatory bodies (such as the presbyteral council, pastoral council, finance council, etc.) at the diocesan/eparchial, national and/or groupings of Churches level.

Groups or individuals who are not part of an official synodal team or diocesan participatory body may participate in the Jubilee with prior approval from their local bishop (for diocesan participants), their national Episcopal Conference (for national entities), or their Grouping of Churches – such as CELAM, FABC, CCEE (for international entities). This written approval must be sent to the General Secretariat of the Synod (synodus@synod.va) in order to receive the registration link.

However, the liturgical moments (the pilgrimage through the Holy Door and the concluding Mass) are public events, and anyone who wishes may take part in the pilgrimage and the passage through the Holy Door. In this case, registration is not required.>

To attend the Mass on Sunday, 26 October, at St. Peter’s Basilica, a ticket issued by the Prefecture of the Papal Household is required. Ticket requests can be made at the following address: https://eventi.pontificalisdomus.va/

In any case, travel and accommodation expenses (board and lodging) are the responsibility of each participant.

How does registration work?

Individual participant registration is managed through the relevant Episcopal Conference or Eastern Church, which has received the necessary information for registering participants. Each Episcopal Conference / Eastern Church will invite members of the synodal teams or participatory bodies to register using a dedicated form.

This includes entry to the Paul VI Hall on the meeting days, and to a reserved area in St. Peter’s Basilica for the celebration on Sunday, 26 October.
