Cardinal Mario Grech, Secretary General of the Synod of Bishops, sent a video message to the participants of the meeting promoted by the International Forum of Catholic Action on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of its foundation.
Focusing on the synodal path, the cardinal Mario Grech invited the members of Catholic Action present on the five continents to "enter with a spirit of authentic communion into the ongoing synodal process, not with an attitude of claim and opposition, but of listening and collaboration. Walk side by side with your pastors with joy: listen to them when they speak to you with the authority with which the Lord has endowed them, conform with sincere adherence of heart to their pastoral directives, shake them when you find them indolent, hearten them when you see them fearful, correct them if in conscience you think they are in error, and extend their action where alone they could not go".
Sr. Nathalie Becquart, under-secretary of the Synod of Bishops, also took part in FIAC’s meeting with an address on the participation of the laity and the AC in the synodal process.
